Q & A with Pastor John
Q - Favorite flavor of ice cream:
A - ALL real ice cream lovers have as their first love, Vanilla. After
Vanilla, I can go any number of directions but flavors like Butter
Pecan, German Chocolate Cake, and Cherry all hit the spot!
Q - Where did you and your wife, Pam, go on your first date (and when was that)?
A - On April 2, 1978 after REPEATED asking, Pam finally consented to "take a
drive with me in a convertible" (I was actually asking for what I
thought would be the last time and was ready to "move on"...but she said
yes!). We went to the Battle of Network Stars in Malibu, California,
and then to the Sizzler in Oxnard and then back to evening service at
our church.
Q - If health were not an issue, how many times a month would you
exercise?
A - Um. Do you mean by choice? I currently am walking about 4
days a week. I actually love to fish, and hike, and play basketball.
Don't ask how many times per month I actually do those things.
Q - What energizes you?
A - I LOVE to talk to people about their
relationship with Christ, help people find their "sweet spot" in
ministry, teach, read, and most importantly--be with my family.
Q - What do you think are the three most important family values, in
order of importance?
A - Relationship with Jesus Christ, respect,
responsibility. Discipline is my fourth.
Q - If you were invited to have dinner with the President at the White
House, what from your current wardrobe would you wear?
A - Wow ... I'd probably rent a tux if it was formal or I'd wear my dark suit with a
bright tie ... and perhaps my cowboy boots :-)
